Queen rose should never have a rival.
Secrets of Roses
What are the Secrets of Roses? They were whispering sweet nothings to each other at summer' end, when I picked them. Each flower has its own personality. The studio still life will demonstrate that proposition. Our choice of chaperone for these two beauties was the Quick Fire hydrangea, which blooms a month before its cousin hydrangeas and keeps on going through fall.
The Quick Fire is especially friendly to still life painters because it blooms from white to dark pink. Naturally I did not wait for the arrival of the blushing pink hydrangea hues. Queen rose should never have a rival. The green rose leaves fill out nature's palette.
